Pokemon Go is the new augmented reality game that's taking the world by storm. Open any newspaper or magazine these days, or take a look at any social media channel, and you'll find a reference to one of the fastest-trending phenomena the world has ever witnessed.
The international release of the mobile game that lets users catch Pokemon in real life was first made available to download in the US, Australia and New Zealand.
A week after its release in Australia and New Zealand it finally launched in the UK and, while the players looked forward to that, for many destinations and attractions in the UK there has been no looking back.
Players are on the hunt for rare Pokemon on their travels right across the UK. And the latest news is that there is a Pokemon Gym over the Barnfields entrance in the centre course area of Uttoxeter Racecourse in Staffordshire.
For those in the know, Gyms are special points of interest found throughout the world, which can be captured for a team and where it's possible to battle the Pokemon of rival team. Further details about Pokemon Gyms can be found at https://support.pokemongo.nianticlabs.com/hc/en-us/articles/222049347-Gym-overview.
The game itself can be downloaded on an iOS device for free from Apple's App store. On Android it is available from the Google Play store.
Coincidentally, Uttoxeter Racecourse's next action-packed Family Fun Raceday is scheduled for Sunday 24 July, with seven races for the grown-ups and plenty of entertainment for the kids. Gates will open at 12.30, before the seven races on the card get under way at 2.30pm.
Best of all, under-18s are admitted free of charge to all Family Fun Days at Uttoxeter Racecourse, making it an affordable day for all the family. Full details can be found at http://www.uttoxeter-racecourse.co.uk/whats-on/fixture/24-july-2016/.
