The Summer Cup is a National Hunt Handicap Steeplechase which is open to horses aged five years or older. It is run over a distance of 3 miles, 2 furlongs and is scheduled to take place each year in late June or early July.
The race was first run in 2000 as the Summer National over a distance of about 4 miles. The distance was reduced to three and a half miles in 2009. The race was rebranded as the Summer Cup and reduced further to its current distance in 2012. In 2024, Hang In There ridden by Joe Anderson and trained by Emma Lavelle were victorious winning by three lengths.
