The official opening of the newly refurbished Final Furlong Marquee took place yesterday during the Staffordshire ‘Let’s Do Business’ Expo. Former footballer, Jon Walters was in attendance alongside Executive Director, Brian Barrass to cut the ribbon to open the new facility.
During the summer break, the racecourse team have been hard at work with an exciting project, the refurbishment and extension of the Hospitality Marquee known as the Final Furlong Marquee.
The marquee, which has been established at the course for over 12 years, has been a fabulous extension of the racecourse, enabling it to host raceday hospitality for large groups and being a popular choice as an events venue.
With the upgrade and extension of the marquee, the venue will now be able to host any event for up to 450 delegates with the aim of becoming Staffordshire’s first-choice venue for large-scale Hospitality, Conferencing, Banquets and Celebrations.
Executive Director Brian Barrass said, “The racecourse team are really excited about the development of the marquee and the opportunities this will create for the racecourse and the town of Uttoxeter. The refurbishment and the upgrade of the marquee has been challenging however the hard work has paid off now that it is completed.
The versatility and space of the facility will allow us to meet the hospitality demand on our sell-out racedays and enable us to be one of Staffordshire’s largest venues for Conferencing, Banquets and Weddings. The marquee is situated adjacent to the final fence with breathtaking views of the track and surrounding countryside, creating a beautiful backdrop for any occasion.
