We're really looking forward to this year's Marston’s Beer Festival Raceday taking place here at Uttoxeter Racecourse on Saturday 13th November. To celebrate the fact that this is the 10th year of Marston's Beer Festival, we've teamed up with sponsors Marston's Brewery to bring 10 of their real ales to Uttoxeter Racecourse. Read on to see just what we have to offer along with some useful tasting notes to help you choose your perfect tipple here on the day...
Marston's 61 Deep
61 Deep of 61 Metres. That's the depth of the well at the Brewery that gives this refreshing pale ale its name. The five American and Australian hops gives it its fresh, zesty aroma, whilst the tropical fruit and citrus notes make it extremely drinkable. Dive in!
Marston's Saddle Tank
We named it after the train that once brought hops and malts into the Brewery and then shipped the beer out. An oldie but a goodie. The recipes been around for yonks. Clear, bright and full flavoured, with a malty biscuit taste. All aboard!
Marston's Pedigree (FastCask)
Marston's Pedigree, or "P" as it was first known. Strange that looking back. Anyway, it has a fascinating aroma. Palate of biscuity malt, spicy hops and light fruitiness.
Marston's Old Empire
A memorable and deceptively easy drinking IPA. This is an authentic recreation of the beer style created for and enjoyed throughout the Empire. Goldings, Fuggles and America Cascade hops combine to give a crisp, citrus hop aroma, with a balanced, bittersweet finish.
Wychwood Hobgoblin (FastCask)
Hobgoblin is a rich ruby beer with sweet caramel and fruity aromas. Brewed with chcolate and crystal malts and a blend of Styrian, Goldings and Fuggles hops. Expect a delicious full-bodied toffee flavour and a fruity finish of figs, raisins and dates.
Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold
Hobgoblin Gold is a light and refreshing golden beer. A combination of four hop varieties infused with malted barley and a touch of wheat give this easy drinking golden beer, tropical aromas of citrus and passion fruit. A biscuit-like malt base gives way to heaps of fresh lemon and lime zest. A hop kick riot of rascally refreshment.
Wychwood Hobgoblin IPA
Hobgoblin IPA is a refreshingly hoppy beer. Pale golden with orange glints prepare for an intense tropical explosion of zesty oranges, grapefruit, honey and juicy bitterness. Winner of the World's best IPA 2018 and the UK's best IPA 2020, World Beer Awards.
Brakspear Gravity (FastCask)
Brewed in Oxfordshire, using the famous Henley 'double-drop' fermentation system in Victorian copper fermentation vessels from the original Henley brewery. Amber in colour with a good fruit, grassy hop, malt nose. The initial taste of malt and well hopped bitterness dissolves into a bitter-sweet and fruity finish.
Jennings Cumberland (FastCask)
CA13 - home to Jennings No.1 Cask beer. Jennings No.1 golden beer acknowledges the rich heritage and tradition of the area. It's deep refreshing flavour is still much in line with contemporary tastes.
Thwaites Wainwright
Refreshingly rewarding crafted golden beer. Delicate citrus aromas. Lightly hopped with subtle sweet notes. Brewed with 100% English malt.
